Each year the Portsmouth Rotary Club asks for nominations from their rotarians of individuals they can think of to honor in four categories, general, public service, health and human services and education.
Yesterday, Thursday, June 10, 2021, I(Latonya Wallace) was nominated by TWO phenomenal women in my life Susan Gold Cathy Guyon Nickerson. I was the recipient of the 2021 Rotary Vocational Award of Excellence in public service! As these two ladies introduced me separately, I was brought to tears. When it was time to share information about P207 and the civic activities I'm engaged in, I couldn't help but stop and simply share my story and my why. It's so important for us to find the joy in each day. It's important for us to do our best to uplift and empower those when given the opportunity. You never know the battles people are facing...so choose to be kind...it can truly save lives.
